The picture and x-rays to the right shows two upper implants in the bone and also how the implants looked after they were restored with two porcelain crowns. This is a common procedure when someone is missing a front tooth or several teeth. The procedure to place the implant is very minor and is usually performed by an oral surgeon. Usually within a few months, the crowns are placed on the implants. The patient usually wears a removable temporary partial denture replacing the missing teeth until the implants are ready to restore.
